Free Online Public ennemies. I have been waiting weeks for this movie to come out, finally seeing it last night. It did not live up to my hopes at all.
The characters are one dimensional. We never get any insight into what motivates Dillinger and his crew, apart from money. The supporting cast has little material with which to distinguish themselves - all the members of Dillinger"s gang are basically interchangeable men with guns. One highlight is the character of Billie - she draws a lot of sympathy and the audience can feel her desire to get her and John away from this lifestyle.
Aside from a brief mention in the opening titles, the suffocating poverty of the great depression is never seen. The depression provided the context for these outlaws and why the public embraced them as folk heroes, leaving it out of this film is a serious oversight.

Another big problem are the historical inaccuracies, which - if more true to the source material, would have enhanced this movie greatly.
Dillinger"s breakout from the Indiana jail is well-paced and a great scene in the film, but Mann neglected to reveal the greatest real life detail of all - the "gun" John used to take his initial hostages was made of wood.
In reality, the shootout at Little Bohemia was brief, and all the gangsters successfully escaped. It was a huge embarrassment for the FBI, who lost one of their agents and killed several innocent civilians and Purvis nearly resigned because of the fallout.
There is plenty of material in Dillinger"s life from which a fantastic movie can be made. Regrettably, this is not that movie.

It can be best summed up as someone saying "the last act of the road warrior was so great so let"s make that into a whole film. They"ve done that and as a result we get a film that"s really lacking a story, is too busy and doesn"t make sense.
I think most of its problems are down to being made to appeal to focus groups rather than being a true mad max film. The UK rating for it is a 15 and it shows. The few times it attempts to do something gruesome or violent it"s always out of the scene and to compensate for the lack of blood the explosions are over the top and add to the busy and distracting feel.
All the theatrics, flaming guitar, pole vaulting guys give you a lot to look at but when you actually think about what is happening there"s very little actually going on and you"re left wondering why are there so many cars simply driving for no reason other than to follow the handful of cars actually doing something? What is the point to the guy playing random rubbish on his guitar other than to serve as a distraction on the screen?
I like Tom Hardy but in the film he has very little to say for having so much screen time and often it feels more like he"s doing his impression of a lawn ornament rather than being mad max. Charlize Theron is barely any better. You could easily take both of their characters out and very little would change about the film.
Without spoiling it I feel there are few wtf moments that at least border on being major plot holes if not actually being plot holes.
It"s a great film if you"ve never realized there were other mad max films or you thought it would be great if they made a mad max film you could take your children (older children that is) to.
If you"re a fan of the series, there"s not much here for you. Even Beyond thunderdome had more substance than this film and even with its awful bits with the children it still holds up better than Fury road.
Even the title, Fury road feels wrong as no one ever feels *that* angry let along furious.

Ending this video with a clip of Judys Old Man River performance was a brilliant decision. Outstanding performances by all the actors and wonderful storytelling. A must see. I love the fact laurie keeps asking who is this guy, protective & maybe Jealous, he loves Jo  amy only married for money, Laurie deserves better &  Meg married for love Jo married her equal. she looks happy.

Little Women is one of my all-time favorite books, and thank you, Greta Gerwig, for bringing it to life! Such a beautiful and moving story with an all-star cast and spectacular cinematography. Loved, loved, loved it. Quality HD. Laurie in this scene is excelent ??. So I saw this with my girlfriend and I was expecting to totally hate it and unfortunately I wasn"t super surprised, but I am able to accept that I, a 15 year old boy, wasn"t exactly the target audience.
It got better in the third act for me, once I completely understood what was going on, and once I did, I can tell you that the movie is very smart and could be a real eye opener for many if it was more engaging to those people. I also very much applaud how they handled the time jumping with different lighting. I might shave a bit off the time but other than that, if you"re interested by the trailer, you"ll enjoy it but if not, you probably won"t love it.

Even if she didnt get nominated, everyone who watched her movie knows she deserves an Oscar. I did not like this movie.  I wanted to but it was too much of a struggle to keep up with the back-and-forth - jumping from present (their present day) to the past then to sometime in the middle.  Laura Dern and Emma Watson were uninspiring and totally miscast in their roles.  I hated the fact that we never got to see the funny side of Jo - in this movie she seemed to be in a continuous low-simmer rage.  Loved Timothee  and Florence but all in all I thought it was hodge-podge snooze fest. Ive only seen the 2019 version but I liked the flashback structure since it really highlights Joes nostalgia and present-day loneliness, and the way she feels like she is losing that childhood happiness from her memories.

As soon as she said “mad” all I could think of is Florence as Danaerys... imagine. Is no one going to mention how they have their hair down and no one in that time frame would be caught dead with their hair down. Florence is such an amazing actress! She deserved the nomination! And she deserved for best leading actress in Midsommar too but unfortunatelly they don"t give a shit about horror movies.
